JACK C4 and E4 Overlock Error Codes: E1 to Ed Explained and Fixed
Short answer: a JACK E4 or E4S overlock shows E1 to E7, EA, Eb, EC or Ed. Switch off, turn the hand wheel to look for a looper jam, reseat the motor, Hall sensor and positioner plugs, check the 220 V supply and restart. A code that returns at once means the part behind it has failed. What each code means E1 : motor stuck. On an overlock the top cause is thread wrapped round a looper. E2 : controller abnormal or software over-current from heavy fabric or low oil. E3 : parameter save fault, or a loose panel-to-box connection. Hold reset for 3 seconds. E4 : motor Hall signal. Inspect the 10-core connector and sensor wiring. E5 : needle position signal. Turn the hand wheel and check the positioner plug; a worn JACK wheel sensor is common. E6 : speed governor (pedal). Check the plug and coder wire. E7 : current detection circuit. Clean lint and dust from the board and check the voltage. EA, Eb, EC, Ed : over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage and brake resistor faults. Cut po...
